Sandown, NH – William “Billy” G. Klier, 57, of Sandown, NH, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Lawrence General Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne C. (Connors) Klier, to whom he was married for 17 years. Billy, son of the late William J. and Leonita A. (LaCarubba) Klier, was born in Methuen on April 24, 1956. He was educated in the Methuen school system. He worked as a chef and a bartender at the Tally Ho in Methuen for over 15 years and then as a chef at Ralph’s Restaurant in North Andover until his retirement. In his free time, Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cooking, and playing cards. He also enjoyed taking motorcycle rides on his Harley Davidson and was an avid New England Patriots fan. In addition to his wife, Billy will be deeply missed by his son, Eric Klier of Hampstead, NH; daughter, Heather Klier of Hampstead, NH; three sisters, Sheila Daves and her husband, George of Gainesville, GA, Debra Rovinski and her husband, Richard of Methuen, and Brenda Larocque and her husband, Robert of Hudson, NH; brother, Bruce “Bubba” Klier and his wife, Priscilla; mother-in-law, Gilda Connors of Methuen; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor and celebrate Billy’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Saturday from 9 AM – 12 PM. At the request of the family, funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Those who wish to remember Billy by making a memorial contribution in his memory are kindly asked in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the charity of one’s choice.

Kathryn Louise Wilbur, age 88 of Sandown, NH, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Simpson County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dewey Strickler and Viola (Finn) Strickler. Kathryn loved painting, crocheting and in her later years she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles. She was proud of the fact that in her life she was able to visit all fifty states and especially enjoyed spending time in Alaska.
Kathryn is survived by her loving husband John M. Wilbur, Sr., of Sandown; her son John M. Wilbur, Jr. and his wife, Marie of Shippensburg, PA.; one daughter, Dianne Cascadden and her husband, Creg of Derry, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Kathryn is also survived by two sisters; Joyce Miller and her husband Roy of Eaton, GA., and Ruby Glenn Kirby of McAllen, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 11:00am at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, 185 Lake Street Peabody, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is in charge of arrangements.

June F. Aquilino, 88, of Sandown, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center of Derry.
Mrs. Aquilino was born July 7, 1925 in Rangeley, ME, and was the daughter of the late Francis and Estelle (Harnden) Pillsbury, and was married for 29 happy years to her beloved husband Ersilio R. (Essie) Aquilino until his death in 1976. She was raised and educated in Rangeley, and was a graduate of Rangeley High School.
Mrs. Aquilino was employed as the secretary to the Dean of the Graduate School at Tufts University, from 1963, until her retirement in 1993. During her retirement in Sandown, she enjoyed gardening, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, long visits to Hampton Beach and Rangeley Maine, and preparing for all holiday seasons to enjoy with her family, especially Christmas and Easter. She will also long be remembered as a “Die Hard”, Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Thompson of Sandown, her son and his wife, Michael and Dale Aquilino of Londonderry, three grandsons, Brian Thompson and his wife Erica of Raymond, NH, Mark Aquilino of Manchester, NH and David Aquilino of Londonderry, NH, and her great grandson, William Thompson of Raymond, NH.
After cremation, a memorial service will be celebrated Sunday October 6, 2013 at 1 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH.

Eleanor L. Bassett, 86, of Sandown, NH, passed away peacefully at her lifelong home in Sandown on November 20, 2013. Born on December 29, 1926, she was the fifth of sixteen children, of Raymond K. and Priscilla (Knights) Bassett.
Eleanor’s volunteer spirit was felt throughout the community. She was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Sandown and the Union Church in East Hampstead. She founded the Community Food Pantry, was a member of the Sandown Lion’s Club, the 60+ Club, and Mothers and Others. Eleanor was Sunday School Superintendent, served as PTA President, and Treasurer of the Old Meeting House Association. She was the librarian when the library was housed at the Sandown Town Hall. She served on many committees at both Churches, and was a volunteer for Community Caregivers. Eleanor was honored to be chosen Sandown Citizen of the Year in 1990, and was a NH Volunteer of the Year in 2007. In 2008, she received the Fourth Annual Hometown Hero Award from Granite State Telephone Co. In 2011, the Sandown Town Report was dedicated to Eleanor.
In the past, Eleanor was employed by Drowne’s Orchard, Woodmont Orchard, several retail stores: J.J. Newbury, Montgomery Ward, W.T. Grant, and Ben Franklin. She was also employed by The Crafty Café, and Fox Den Retirement Community as a cook.
She is survived by her seven siblings: Martha Sargent and husband Richard of Springfield, VA, Donald Bassett and wife Margery of Northwood, NH, Wendell Bassett and wife Barbara of Weare, NH, William Bassett and wife Pam of Gainsboro, GA, Kenneth Bassett of Sandown, David Bassett and wife Sandra of E. Hampstead, NH, Carroll Bassett and wife Arlene of Sandown; and sister-in-law Katherine Bassett of Sandown. She leaves 45 nieces and nephews and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight of her siblings: Hazel Marlow, Eva Phillips, Charles, Raymond, Norman, Robert, Richard, and Irving Bassett.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 2 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00am in St. Matthews United Methodist Church, 328 Main St., Sandown. The burial will follow in the Center Cemetery in Sandown. Raymond J. Gaudet, 89, lifelong resident of Andover, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, December 29, 2013.

Raymond was born in Andover to the late Joseph and Jacqueline (Doucette) Gaudet. He is survived by his son Thomas of Andover, his caregiver and with whom he resided; his son William and his partner Rosa Cabrera of Sandown, New Hampshire; and five grandchildren: Andrew Gaudet, James Gaudet, Michael Gaudet, Kayla Gaudet, and Jacqueline Gaudet as well as three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Catherine Cardinal of Dover, New Hampshire and Lucille (Joseph) Abreu of Atkinson, New Hampshire and brothers: Amedie Gaudet of Arizona and Alfred Gaudet (Vera) of Northwood, New Hampshire, along with several nieces and nephews.

Educated in local schools, Raymond served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a torpedo man aboard the U.S.S. Banqust. After his honorable discharge in 1948, Raymond obtained his electrician certification and spent his career at the former Western Electric/Lucent Technologies in North Andover, retiring in 1982 as a part of the management team.

A lifelong avid golfer, Raymond was a member of the Far Corner golf course in Boxford, MA where in 1999 he hit a hole in one.

A funeral Mass followed by burial at Sacred Heart cemetery will take place in the Spring. Arrangements are being conducted by the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 N. Main St. Andover, MA.

Thomas would like to thank the staff of the memory compass unit at Methuen Village and the Hospice of the North Shore & Greater Boston for the care and comfort they extended to Raymond during the last several weeks of his life. He was truly blessed to have been in their care!

Mrs. Eleanor J. (Marshall) Berthel, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Russell Berthel, died at the Wingate at Andover Nursing Center in Andover on Monday evening, February 24, 2014. She was 90 years old. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on December 31, 1923, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dudley K. and Margaret G. (O’neil) Marshall. Mrs. Berthel was a communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, for many years. In her spare time, Eleanor enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. She also loved eating out, especially at Kitty’s and Roma’s. Above all else, family was her number one priority. She will be very sorely missed by her loving daughters; Jane M. and her husband John Cain of Sandown, New Hampshire and Karen L. and her husband David M. Elkin of Andover, cousin; Kathleen Morin of Lawrence, grandchildren; Michael Cain, Julie LaPage, Alise Cain, Lynne Meineke, Lisa Tylus and Michael, Shawn and Timothy Elkin and nine great-grandchildren. Her Funeral Mass Will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Despite his strong will, Alan R. Beaudette, 58, of Sandown, NH lost his battle against cancer on March 18th, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Alan was born in Methuen, MA on July 23rd, 1955 the son of Emilia (Gaudet) Beaudette and C. Henry Beaudette. In 1986 Alan, nickname Bear, married Cheryl (Bishop) Beaudette. They lived in Sandown, NH for thirty years where he built his dream home for his family in 2000. Alan grew up in Lawrence, MA and graduated from Greater Lawrence Vocational School in 1973. After school he began remodeling apartments then joined the Teamsters Union Local 49. In 1979, Alan began working at Rourke Eno where he drove trucks and worked in the warehouse for sixteen years. He then started his own business Al’s Handyman Service. There was no job to BIG or too small for him. Alan was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, also a member of the French Social Club in Methuen, MA where he worked diligently to allow women to become stock holders. Alan also was a notable member of the Halcyon Club, in Derry, NH. He was truly a knowledgeable man and spoke his mind and was well respected by his friends and family. Alan enjoyed his camp getaway in Dummer, NH. He also enjoyed his John Deere tractor, hunting, fishing, candle making, and was an avid gun enthusiast. Alan was predeceased by his father C. Henry Beaudette. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Cheryl (Bishop) Beaudette; his only doting child he named Alyson (Al’s son) Beaudette; his adoring mother Emilia (Mimi) Beaudette of Sandown, NH; his caring brother Charlie Beaudette of Maine; his friends who he called family; many thoughtful aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; and his affectionate animals Ruby and Buddy. ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of Alan’s life will be held on Saturday March 29th, 2014 between 1:00pm and 4:00pm at Halcyon Club (Upstairs Hall) 11 Central Street Derry ,NH 03038. Willis A. Coapland, 88, of Concord, NH passed away at his campground on Friday, June 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 6, 1926 in Campton, NH, a son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Salls) Coapland and had been a resident of Sandown for over 40 years, formerly living in Worcester, MA. Mr. Coapland proudly served his country during WWII with the US Army. He was the owner and operator of Angle Pond Grove Campground in Sandown since 1972. He is survived by his wife, Maryann L (Holden) of Concord, one daughter, Pamela Cain and her companion Roger Wood of Sandown, one son, Gary Coapland and his wife Barbara of Auburn, three grandchildren, Kira Brewster and her husband Alan, Brett Coapland and his wife Jennifer, and Rashael Cain, five great grandchildren, one brother, Bernard Coapland of Colorado, two nephews, as well as Maryann’s children, Linda Letsh, Joanne Baldassare, Donna Cavalieri, Leonard Panzini, Daniel Panzini, and Kevin Mellen, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elsie E. (Avery) Coapland in 1992. There are no calling hours.

Louise E. “Betty” Malatesta, 90 of Medford, died Wednesday July 2 after a brief illness in the Winchester Hospital, Winchester. Louise was born in Medford in 1923 and grew up in South Medford. She attended Lincoln Grammar School, Lincoln Junior High and graduated Medford High School in 1941. She married her prom date and neighbor, Walter Malatesta in 1945 during WW II. She lived in Woburn from1953 to the late 70’s and moved back to Medford. Louise was an Administrative Assistant, with E.F. Hutton in Boston for many years. After retiring from the only employer she ever worked for, Louise enjoyed traveling to Disney World, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, California and several times to Hawaii. She has always enjoyed reading, particularly British mystery novels, cooking and baking (pies a specialty). She was the daughter of the late Helen F. (Lantz) and Chester Smith. Beloved wife of the late Walter Malatesta. Devoted mother of Cheryl L. Zanello and her husband James of Sandown, NH, Nancy D. Malatesta of Medford, Dean W. Malatesta and his wife Nancy A. of Medfield. Loving grandmother of Amy and Dean Zanello, Jessica and Darren Malatesta. Loving great grandmother of Troy Wallace, Dallas Kruczek and Anthony Beltran. Sister of the late Dorothy Queen. Sister in law of Clare Simmons and aunt of Mark Simmons. Favorite cousin to Elinor Lewis. Joan M. (Broadhurst) Cataldo, 75, of Sandown, NH, formerly of Lawrence passed away on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014, after a lengthy illness, at her home surrounded by her loving family, her partner and her beloved friend. Joan was born in Methuen on December 16th, 1938, daughter of the late Walter and Margaret (Buckley) Broadhurst. She was educated in Lawrence, and was proud to say she was one of the Saint Mary’s Girls. She worked as a Teller and later as a Bookkeeper for the Community Savings Bank on Essex Street in Lawrence for some 36 plus years until the banks closing. Before Joan turned 27 she had 5 children, according to her family, her best accomplishment. She was very proud of being a member of the Community Advisory Board at the Lawrence Eagle Tribune, where she was involved in writing articles for the paper. Joan was also very involved in her Saint Mary’s Class reunions, she would get together with classmates at least twice a year. Joan was an avid reader, especially the Lawrence Eagle Tribune, it was part of her daily reading. Joan enjoyed spending time and being involved with her children, grandchildren, great granddaughters and her partner. Her 7 great granddaughters: Angela, Korrin, Kiara, Khloe, Erin, Kyleigh and Jenessa. As well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph M. Shank, Sr., 81, of Sandown, NH, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Lawrence, MA on March 19, 1931, a son of Arthur and Yvonne (Patry) Shank, and had been a resident of Sandown for many years. Joseph was a US Navy and Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed as a salesman for Prudential Insurance Co. Joseph was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 9058 in Hampstead where he was a 4th Degree Knight. He was a member of the Greccio Fraternity of Secular Franciscans, and was active in Cursillo at St. Basil’s in Methuen, MA. Joseph had served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Anne’s Church in Hampstead where he was also a cantor, a lector, and had served as Chairman of the first Parish Council of St. Anne’s Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth (Atkins) Shank of Sandown; one daughter, Kathy Shank of West Chesterfield, NH; three sons, Jeffrey Shank and his wife Deborah of Derry, Daniel Shank and his wife Amy of CA, Joseph Shank, Jr. and his wife Veronica of TN; his foster children, Yung & Tau Doan of Alexandria, NH, and Tung and his wife; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his sister, Georgette Parent of Manchester, NH; two brothers, Kenneth Shank of Hollywood, FL, and Donald & Mona Shank of Methuen, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, Rodney Shank who lived in Methuen, MA. Herbert H. “Jamie” Jameson, 80, of Sandown, NH died April 1, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Jamie was born in Pembroke, NH on November 8, 1932, a son of the late Howard and Selina (Forcier) Jameson. He proudly served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jamie was employed as a machinist for several companies including General Dynamics where he worked as a supervisor. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club and the Chester Rod & Gun Club. Jamie loved to camp, spending more than 50 years camping at Angle Pond in Sandown. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Vera (DePalma) Jameson of Sandown, two daughters, Lynne Jameson-Meehan and her husband Richard of Melrose, MA, Leigh Jameson of E. Boston, MA, two grandchildren, Kyle Meehan and Keven Meehan, his six siblings, also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Jameson. Franklin A. “Frank” Hamlyn, 81, of Sandown, NH passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at his home following a period of declining health. He was born on May 21, 1933 in Kennebunk, ME a son of the late Charles and Hilda (Moulton) Hamlyn. He was a resident of New Hampshire for 28 years, formerly living in Hampton, NH and Stoneham, MA. Mr. Hamlyn proudly served his country in the US Army. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Barbara Taylor on June 9, 1957. He worked for many years as a professional civil engineer. He enjoyed square dancing, golfing, jigsaw puzzles and hunting. He was an avid rock collector, spending numerous hours in search of unique varieties. He is survived by his three children, Candace Ferrell of Christiansburg, VA, Perry Hamlyn of Tewksbury, MA, and Robin Knight of Sandown, eight grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachel, and Joseph Ferrell III; Shannon and Justin Hamlyn; and Amanda, Nathaniel and Jessica Knight, two brothers, Robert Hamlyn of Wells, ME and Donald Hamlyn of Manchester, ME, three sisters, Irene Lovell of California, Dorothy Walker of Gold Canyon, AZ, and Edna McKenney of Portland, ME as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy (Taylor) Hamlyn in 2011 and four of his siblings, Charles Hamlyn, Harold Hamlyn, Margaret Elwell and Thea Low. There are no calling hours. Following cremation, memorial services will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Autism Society. Richard E. Campagnoni,age 82,passed away October 4, 2014 at The Arbors in Bedford, NH after a brief illness. Born in Medford, MA, the son of A. Albert and Rose (Frezza) Campagnoni. He was educated in Everett, MA, received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and an MS degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi, Engineering Honor Society. Married Jessie Marie Forsey in 1953. They have three children, Marie and husband Yves Descoteaux of Sandown, NH, Richard Campagnoni of Hyannis, MA and Susan Harding and former husband, Charles R. Harding of Schenectady. They were blessed with four grandchildren, Jessica May Harding of Fairfield, CT, Andrew Charles Harding of Medford, MA, Elyse Marie Descoteaux and fiancé Michael Maglia of Derry, NH and Robert Yves and Meaghan Descoteaux of Derry, NH. Richard was predeceased by his parents and brother, Albert. He is survived by siblings Lorraine, Janet and Fred and sister-in-law, Patricia Campagnoni. Also survived by nephew Roger Campagnoni of Camarillo, CA and nieces Nicole Tibbetts and husband, David and their 4 children of Danvers, MA, Lisa Campagnoni of Boston, MA and Jill Campagnoni of Everett, MA. Richard served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army as an Ordinance Technician. He was a lifetime member of the Rotterdam Elks. He was employed by General Electric Company at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory. He held several managerial positions at the Niskayuna and West Milton Sites in New York and at the Windsor, CT facility. He belonged to the Elfun Society and supported an effort to provide restored Personal Computer equipment to not-for-profit organizations. Richard was a long time member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Schenectady. He was a member of the Parish Council, the Holy Name Society, and the Choir. He was involved in the restoration and maintenance of the church Pipe Organ and Tower Chimes. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and softball. He held a second degree black belt in Tai Kwon Do. But above all he enjoyed time with his family and many dear friends from his time in Schenectady. He is loved dearly by his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00am in Holy Cross Church, Hampstead Road, Derry. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Road, Londonderry. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home in Derry on Friday from 9:30-10:30am prior to the Mass.

William F. Flebotte, 76, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Sandown, NH died at his residence Saturday, October 18, 2014 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was born August 21, 1938 in Cambridge, MA and was the son of the late Harold and Alice (McCullough) Flebotte. He was raised in Cambridge, and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School. He was a 30 year resident of Sandown prior to moving to Londonderry. He served in the U.S. Army as a medic in the 101st Airborne Division. He later worked for over 20 years as a driver with the Mobil Oil Co. He was an avid Patriots fan, enjoyed golf and was a devoted grandfather to his beloved grandchildren. Members of the family include his daughter and her husband, Donnalee and Timothy Richards of Londonderry, NH, four grandchildren, Elicia Jones and her husband Keith of Sandown, NH, Tara Leone and her husband Angel of Sandown, NH, John Michael McGregor and his wife Danielle of Windham and Jaye-D McGregor of Haverhill, MA. as well as several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie E. (Weeks) Flebotte in 1988, two sons, Joseph and Stephen Leone and by his sister Doris Flebotte. Mrs. Wilson was born in Hartford, CT on May 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Mary E. (McAloon) Hart. She had resided in Sandown for the past 30 years, formerly living in Burlington, MA, Connecticut and Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Jana Keene of Carmel, ME, three grandchildren, Thomas Wilson-Frascone and his husband Robert Indars, Christopher Wilson-Frascone and his wife Mallory Wilson-Frascone-Hamm, and Mary Frascone. She also leaves her extended family and dear friend, Sharon Krause. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Walter Seed Wilson who died in 2004. There are no calling hours. She was the beloved wife of Anthony M. McGuinness who died in 1996, and previously the late Gerard Holland. She was born in Stoneham, October 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Dana E. and Edith M. (Abbott) Batchelder, and was raised in Stoneham. Sally and her family had lived in Tewksbury since 1956. Prior to retirement, Sally worked as a supervisor at PORTEX company as a production supervisor. In her later years she was active with Senior Connections in North Andover, and had a lifelong love for travel, knitting, word searches and shopping. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Holland and his wife Patricia of Sandown, NH, Gerard “Gerry” Holland of Hudson, NH; a sister, Barbara Campbell of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren, Jared Holland, Eric Holland both of CT, Craig Holland of Sandown, NH, Dana Holland and Kaliegh Holland both of Hudson, NH, Amanda Ruggiero and William Kleschinsky both of Tewksbury. She was also mother of the late Michael Holland and Mary Ann Kleschinsky; and sister of the late Dana Bachelder, Lillian Hoag, Nancy Foster, Janice Nelson, and Betsy Johnson. Edward J. Julian passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2014. He joins his parents, Edward and Mary (Somers), his siblings, James, Josephine, Mary, John, and his saintly wives Mary (Mulvaney) and Christina (Fitzpatrick). He was “a patient man” to his daughters, Barbara Julian of Cooper City, FL and Catherine and her husband Ronald DelCore of East Hampstead, NH. The DelCore grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife, Courtney, Sarah, Yovannie and Justice will miss their beloved “Grumps”. Ed was born in the Bronx, NY on June 27, 1925. He owned homes in Commack, NY and Micco, FL. A graduate of Immaculate Conception School in the Bronx, NY and Commerce High School in New York City, Ed served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1943-1965. He later worked for Abraham and Strauss Department Stores. A happy-go-lucky Irishman, Ed was proud of his New York roots. His first job was selling programs at Yankee Stadium. He enjoyed time on his boat, going on cruises, a good poker game and following his extended family on Facebook. He was fond of Manhattans (“easy on the ice”) and a cold beer. He spent quality time ‘resting his eyes’. A funeral Mass at St.Kilians’ Church and burial at Long Island National Cemetery, both of Farmingdale, NY are being planned for early spring.
