Peter G. Holmes, 61, of Sandown, died suddenly, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 8, 1953 in Worcester, MA and was the son of the late, W. Kenneth and Elsie (Johnson) Holmes. Peter was raised and educated in Worcester and received a Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. . He is a longtime resident of Sandown. Peter was employed for many years as a Computer Engineer with Sun Microsystems and several other computer companies. He was currently employed as a Realtor with Verani Realty of Londonderry. Peter was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV’s, boating and snowmobiling. He was also an accomplished pilot. He was a plane owner and member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. Members of the family include his Fiancée and 20 yr. companion, Linda Ilg of Sandown, his sister and her husband, Sandra and Raymond Marchetti, of Framingham, MA, and his niece, Bonnie (Marchetti) Lavoie. He was predeceased by his twin sister, Pamela Louise Holmes. After cremation, an hour of visitation will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 3 to 4 pm, at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 4 pm in the funeral home.

Raymond C. Hall, Jr., 89 of Sandown, NH died Friday May 22, 2015 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Hall was born in Londonderry, NH on July 16, 1925 a son of the late Raymond C. Hall, Sr. and Marie (Lessard) Hall. He had resided in Sandown since 1976, formerly living in Littleton, MA where he was active in Boy Scouts and the Little League program. Ray was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy Class of 1943 and went on to serve from 1943- 1946 during WWII with the Army Air Force. He later graduated from UNH in Durham, NH in 1950. Ray was employed for the Webster Company in Lawrence, MA as vice president of purchasing. He and his wife also owned and operated Hall’s Nursery in Sandown for 25 years. He was a former member of the Tahattawan Masonic Lodge in Littleton, MA. Ray enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jennie S. (York) Hall of Sandown, two sons, Raymond C. Hall III and his wife Cheryl of Battleground, WA, and Thomas Hall and his wife Jeanne of Derry, one daughter, Kristen Sheehan and her husband Thomas of Amherst, NH, five grandchildren, Kate, Valerie, Rebecca, Jacqueline, and Alexander, two great-grandchildren, Camille and Naomi. He also leaves three sisters, Paulina Backman of Londonderry, Pauline Butterfield of Loudon, NH, and Barbara Therriault of Seabrook, NH, also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Bertha Bourque and Marian Pratt. Following cremation, a calling hour will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 10 – 11:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5 Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 201, Bedford, NH 03110.

Linda A. (Turgeon) Tarbox, 65, of Sandown NH. Linda was born in the old Union Hospital off of Lynnwood St. in Lynn Aug. 14, 1949. She entered into peaceful rest June 27, 2015 after a ten year long battle with ALS. Linda is the daughter of Al and Anne (Wynne) Turgeon and the loving wife of Ken Tarbox with whom she recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. She has two sons, Mike and Chris, and three grandchildren, Christopher, Allison and Caitlin, whom she adored and were the center of so much joy and happiness in her life. Linda graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School in 1967 and the Andover Institute of Business of Lynn in 1968 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She started her employment years at Salem State College as secretary to the Dean of Men. In 1970, she left there to join Ken in Dover, Delaware and begin raising a family. After moving back to Lynn, and then on to Chelmsford, MA, where she stayed home to raise the boys, she returned to the world of work. She spent the next 26 years at Raytheon, first as a secretary and then as an assistant Librarian in the technical library. She was laid off in 2006 and retired in 2007. Linda enjoyed traveling to different places and went on multiple trips to Ireland, Europe, The Caribbean islands, Hawaii, and a number of states in the USA. She was an active member of the “Books and Bites” book club at the Sandown, NH Library and enjoyed the time she spent with her many friends there. The last five years she would spend her winters in The Villages in Florida. Until ALS slowed her down, she enjoyed hiking and cross-country skiing on the many miles of trails in the woods of beautiful New England. In addition to her beloved husband Ken, Linda leaves behind her sons, Michael and his wife Penni of Lafayette, IN, Chris and his wife Kerry of Nashua, NH and her three grandchildren, Christopher, Allison and Caitlin. She also leaves two sisters, Patt George and her husband Tony of Swampscott, MA and Carol Dobbins and her husband Bill of Clifton Park, NY. She also leaves many nieces and nephews along with her Aunt Rita Wynne and many cousins who grew up with her and with whom she enjoyed many years of fun at family gatherings. Linda was pre-deceased by her parents, her uncle Pat, her aunts and uncles Maisie and Jack and Beth and Brendan, a nephew Cody George, and a niece Sarah Warren. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, July 2nd in St. Anne’s Parish, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Burial in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA will be privately held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN 56007 or the Muscular Dystrophy Association – WEB, PO Box 97075, Washington, DC 20077-7258 to help eradicate this awful disease.

Chantal M. Dubois, 51, of Sandown, NH, died Thursday, July 23, 2015 in Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA following a lengthy illness. She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on October 23, 1963, a daughter of Francois and Henedine (Nadeau) Pare. Chantal had been a resident of Sandown for the nine past years, formerly living in Haverhill, MA for 15 years. She was raised and educated in Methuen, MA, and attended Northern Essex Community College and Merrimack College. She was employed as a Service Systems Analyst for the UniFirst Corp. Chantal enjoyed going on cruises and working with computers. In addition to her mother, Chantal is also survived by her devoted husband Christopher J. Dubois, her two beloved daughters, Felicita Dubois and Sandralee Dubois; one loving sister, Michelle “Mimi” Pare, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Laurence E. Dewey, 69, of Somerville, MA died Tuesday August 4, 2015 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Dewey was born in Somerville on November 29, 1945, a son of the late Laurence and Mary (Reilly) Dewey. He was a US Marine Corp veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Dewey retired from Prolorized New England in Everett, MA where he had worked for 35 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 62 in Charlestown, MA. Beloved husband of Edna M. Mr. James A. Demers, 70, passed away on November 18, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Andover and beloved son of Mildred C. (Reed) Demers-Waldie of New Portland, Maine and the late Leo A. Demers. James was born in Taunton, Massachusetts, on August 26, 1945. Mr. Demers was a graduate of Andover High School, class of 1964, where he enjoyed playing football. He enlisted in the Army during Vietnam on July 27, 1964 and served with the Third Battalion, 12th Regiment, of the Fourth Infantry Division when he sustained severe wounds in the battle of Dak To. He was awarded a purple heart. He received his honorable discharge February 24, 1969. Mr. Demers was a Soldiers, Soldier, a true war hero- “I just want them to remember that I paid a terrible price in defense of my beloved country but that I remain, as always, a good soldier, and that I would gladly do it all over again.” – Mr. Demers In civilian life James worked as a custodian for the Town of Andover for many years. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his daughter Amanda J. Demers, siblings; Robert F. and his wife Leslee Demers of Andover, Kenneth A. Demers of Derry, New Hampshire, Roger R. and his wife Patricia Demers of Sandown, New Hampshire, Ronald J. and his partner John J. Demers of New Portland, Maine, Donna M. and her husband Ronald C. Hajj of Andover and the late Leo M. Demers. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews and dear friends; John Doherty, Lesley Carlson, Michael O’Neill and Kevin Lynch. His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Christ Church, 33 Central Street, Andover on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Richard E. Care, 78, of Sandown, NH, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Bedford Falls Assisted Living Facility in Bedford, NH. He was born on November 6, 1937 in Winthrop, MA a son of the late John and Martha (Emmons) Care. He was a resident of Sandown for many years, previously living in Winthrop, MA where he grew up and served as a police officer. Richard was an avid fisherman and also had a love for target shooting, history and of course his computer. Richard was a member of the Masonic Temple, Tucker Lodge in Raymond, NH, something in which he took great pride in. Richard was deeply in love with his late wife, Marie. They would spend their time in their retreat at Bow Lake or traveling around the world on cruises to various countries such as England, Germany, France and the Panama Canal. Richard will be fondly remembered by all, especially for his famous chocolate chip cookies. He is survived by his three children, Christine Walker and her husband Lloyd of Kingwood, TX, Mike Care of Hollis, NH and his former wife Dolly Care of Milford, NH and Terri Nolan of Townsend, MA; seven grandchildren, Billy Jr., Stephanie and Aaron Gibbs, Jason and Julie Care and Haley and Hannah Nolan; one great-grandchild, Sawyer Hannibal; and his dear friend, Jerry Lachance of Sandown. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Marie (Hannaford) Care. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 27th from 2pm to 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. David P. Doan, of Sandown, NH formerly of Billerica, MA and Woburn, MA passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 18, 2016. He was 33 years of age. Born in Stoneham, MA he was the cherished son of Robert L. and Lori A. (Garrity) Doan of Sandown, NH.

David was raised and educated in Billerica, MA. He was a New Hampshire resident for past 19 years and worked in construction. Mostly devoted to his family, David cherished spending time with his children.

In addition to his parents, David is survived by his children; Aryanna Benedict, Kiyah Benedict and David P. Doan, all of New Hampshire. He was the beloved brother of Robert L. Doan Jr. of Woburn, Kristen A. Benson of Londonderry, NH and Jennifer M. Roman of Haverhill. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Betty Ann Parsons, 77 of Brentwood, NH, formerly of Sandown, NH, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. She was born February 11, 1939 in Lawrence, MA and was the daughter of James and Jennie (Calderone) Maimone. Betty was raised and educated in Methuen, MA and lived for many years in the Hampstead/Atkinson, NH, area and had been a resident of Sandown since 2005. Betty was the beloved wife of Emery G. F. Parsons of Sandown. Other members of the family include her son and his wife, Leo and Carole Picard of Manchester and their children, Pam and Drew. Three sons, Emery G.F. Jr, and Molly Parsons, of Folsom, CA., Emery W.J. and Debbie Parsons, of Salem, NH and Chris and Tricia Parsons of Derry, NH and 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Barbara Joan Dugas, 55, of Sandown, NH, passed away peacefully Friday, March 25, 2016 in her home. She was born in Melrose, MA on September 8, 1960, a daughter of Paul and Joan (Johnson) Constantine. Barbara was an avid photographer and always had her 35mm camera on hand. She loved many outdoor activities including hiking and camping. She loved her dogs and they brought her so much joy; but her greatest joy was her time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband Gerard Dugas of Sandown; three daughters, Danielle Dugas of Raymond, NH, Kristina Moore of Methuen, MA and Rebecca Dugas of Sandown, NH; two brothers, David Constantine of Beverly, MA and Donald Constantine of Melrose, MA; and her sister, Ruth Canney of Meredith, NH. Barbara is predeceased by her son, Scott Dugas in 1995 and her sister Carol Constantine.
